Follow our expert trekking guides on a true expedition through wilderness of the Umphang valley. This trip starts and ends in Mae Sot.

Itinerary

Day 1:
Mae Sot, Hmong village, Karen Village through a scenic 180km journey on this winding mountain road. Arrive in Umphang valley. Embark on a sturdy bamboo raft for a float down scenic Mae Klong river. After a few hours, we stop at a river camp (tents) where we will spend the night. Meals are prepared by your guides.

Day 2:
Bamboo rafting on the Mae Klong river, passing by Tee Lojor spray waterfall, and a hot spring.
Make a 3 hours trek to Thee Lor Su waterfall. Overnight near the waterfall in the forestry park.
Camping in tent.

Day 3:
Hike 3 hours to a traditional Karen village, overnight in the illage. Basic but comfortable accommodation in their bamboo huts.

Day 4:
A great expedition on elephant back for 3 to 4 hours to reach Mokido, where we rejoin our support vehicle. Transfer back to Umphang. Short coffee and snack break before the long road journey to Mae Sot.

Note:

All the trekking areas are supervised by T.A.T. which means they are all frequented by Tourists. However the Wild Planet proposes a less frequented area with more difficult access. Most other trekking companies tends to "trek" in the Mae Taeng valley, much closer to Chiang Mai.
