Residential Outdoor Adventure Sample Program
Koh Tao, Scuba Paradise
Koh Tao is situated in the Southern Gulf of Thailand. The island's ganite coastline is lined with sandy beaches. The ocean surrounding Koh Tao offers a huge range of dive sites and they are all within 30 minutes of our base Planet Scuba in Mae Hadd.
The program is designed to introduce the students to ocean and outdoor activities placing them in an environment they may or may not have experienced before. The major activity of this residential is either snorkelling or scuba diving & the use of these skills to enable observation of the reef. Preparatory work can be carried out in the classroom prior to the trip.
Itinerary
Arrival Day: Transfer to domestic terminal for Bangkok Airways flight to Koh Samui (1 hour 20 min.). Arrive in Koh Samui, transfer from airport to Resort, Mae Nam Beach. Free time in resort, evening meal, briefing. Overnight resort.
Day Two: Early rise and transfer to pier for ferry to Koh Tao. Arrive, check into accommodation. Lunch. Begin academic session. Eveing meal. Academic session also for advanced divers.
Day Three: Breakfast, finish academic training, lunch, head to Mango Bay, the site of our confined water training. Advanced students will complete a skills review and make a fun dive. Return late afternoon.
Day Four: Open Water training dives 1 & 2 to max depth of 12 metres with lunch in between. Two dive a.m. or p.m. trip for advanced students. Evening meal.
Day Five: Breakfast, Open Water training dives 4 & 5, max depth of 18 metres at sites around Koh Tao. A.m two dive trip for advanced divers and also a night dive.
Day Six: Head off as qualified divers for a full dive trip at the best dive sites. (This time can also be used to finish training for students who had problems earlier in the course and required extra practise time.)
Day Seven: Breakfast, ferry to Samui @ 10.30. Transfer to flight to Bangkok.
