PADI Advanced Open Water Diver

Looking for the ultimate adventure?

If you want to gain new experiences, new skills then the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver program is for you. During the course you will get to explore some of diving's top adventures and complete a deep and navigation dive plus three adventure dives that interest you most from the following list:

  • Dive Propulsion Vehicle
  • Underwater Photographer
  • Night Diver
  • Multilevel Diver
  • Underwater Naturalist
  • AWARE Fish Identification
  • Boat Diver
  • Peak Performance Buoyancy
  • Search and Recovery

Why Advanced Open Water Diver?

After your five dives, you'll be more experienced, feel more comfortable in the water and simply enjoy diving more because you better understand the underwater environment.

What do I need to start?

  • PADI Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization)
  • Minimum age: 15 (12 for PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver)

If you have not been diving for a while then we recommend that you take a quick scuba review in the pool to refresh your diving skills and knowledge. It is also a good idea to get hold of a copy of the PADI Adventures In Diving Manual and complete the appropriate knowledge reviews for the Adventure Dives that interest you.

Shark -- Scuba Diving in Thailand

How long will it take?

  • Two Days
  • Five dives

What will I need?

  • Adventures in Diving Manual
  • Log Book

Can I also make PADI Enriched Air Dives in this course?

Two of your dives can also be combined with the Enriched Air Nitrox Course which will build your confidence as you extend your bottom time. By diving with enriched air rather than standard air you can extend your no decompression limits. This means more time underwater.

Where can I go from here?

The PADI Advanced Openwater Certification will allow you to participate in more advanced diving activities with a maximum recommended depth limit of 30 meters and continue on to the PADI Rescue Diver course.

Each PADI Adventure Dives can also credit towards the first Dive of corresponding PADI Specialty Diver certifications.
